The Mayor of Foster City will cut the ribbon on the city's newest jiu jitsu academy, alongside the Chamber of Commerce. Come stand in the photo. We'd like the neighborhood in the picture when we do it, and food goes out right after.
Ceremony time announced soonThese are our normal Saturday class times, so what you see that morning is exactly what a regular week looks like here. Every class is free and open to anyone who walks in.
Come for one class or stay the whole morning. Open mat runs between sessions, so there's always something happening on the floor. Wear comfortable athletic clothes and bring a water bottle. We handle the rest.
Three classes across the morning covering every age group, taught the way we teach them every week. Total beginners are the whole point. No uniform needed, no signing up for anything.
The Mayor of Foster City and the Chamber of Commerce join us to cut the ribbon, followed by food catered from the restaurants right here in Edgewater Plaza. We'll post the exact ceremony time on this page once it's locked in.

Matt and Raf will both be on the mat the whole time, along with the family. Bring your questions, about jiu jitsu, about your kid, about whether your knees can handle it.
Book a free class on or before Saturday September 5 and we'll hold the Founding 50 rate for you through September 10, even if you're away for the long weekend. We don't sell memberships online. Everyone takes a free class first, then we sort out the paperwork in person.
These are real classes, not a demo. Kids warm up with games and learn their first techniques at kid pace. Parents can watch from the lobby or get on the mat themselves.
Adults, you will not be the only beginner in the room and nobody is going to try to hurt you. Wear a t-shirt and shorts or leggings. That's the entire dress code.
Nothing costs anything that day and we won't chase you around the room. Take a class, eat some pizza, look at the mats, decide later.
There's good jiu jitsu all over this peninsula. The difference here is that it's five minutes from your house, in the plaza you already shop in, so you'll actually keep going.
